My boyfriend (along with me and most of my neighbors) park our cars on the street near the intersection of Eastlake and Fairview. This morning we woke up to the third busted window on my boyfriend’s car in about 9 months. The area is fairly well lit and I know there is a decent police presence (as I regularly hear their sirens) so i can not figure out what is going on... Nothing was missing from his car it just seems to be random vandalism. Are others experiencing this? Anything we can do to help each other??

Sorry to hear about that. I feel for ya, as my car got a nice dent put in it (on the curbside) while parked on the street. I couldn't think of any solution other than to buck up >$100 month for garage-parking. Do you think those neighborhood watch signs actually do anything? Couldn't hurt I suppose.
Found out from another neighbor that we wern't the only ones last night... they tampered with his tranmission and ignition to try and steal his car too. We file reports when this happens, but I don't know that it does anything. Has anyone had experience working wiht SPD to get additional patrols or with the city to get better lighting, etc...??

SPD is pretty strapped as it is. Look at Belltown. As for better lighting, I hope this comes as part of the new development in Cascade and the rest of SLU.
